Arrive Alive Driving - FAQ

Our vehicles are late model, 5 star ANCAP rated vehicles in MANUAL and AUTOMATIC.

I recommend starting the learning to drive process with a professional driving lessons. This will allow you to absorb motoring knowledge and establish safe driving techniques that will allow you to attain better competency skills over your initial 120 hours learner driving.

At Arrive Alive Driving (inc. AAD Driver Education), we encourage parents/guardians (as passive observers) to participate after the initial first lesson. Experience tells us that this assists your parents/guardians in maintaining a consistency when mixed with lessons given by family.

Have you always driven an automatic vehicle but are thinking of buying manual vehicle? We can also help you with manual training to assist you in making this transition.

Our organisation can provide lesson packages for the budget conscious, and gift certificates as well. Arrive Alive Driving (inc. AAD Driver Education) gift certificates make great presents for 16th birthdays.

During your lessons we DO NOT use a mobile phones (talk or text) except in an extreme emergency, in which case your lesson duration will be extended. We believe that it is your money and your time we are utilising. If you ring us and we don't answer, please leave a message and we will return your call at the earliest opportunity.

All our instructors have current valid working with children checks.

What do I need to bring to my first lesson?

It is a legal requirement that students carry their learners permit whilst driving on Victorian roads, and students will need to carry their log books where applicable.

What is keys2drive?

A free driving lesson. keys2driveĀ is an Australia-wide, federally-funded education program providing a free driving lesson for the learner driver and their supervisor with a qualified driving instructor, designed to make newly licensed drivers safer on the road.

Do you just train learner drivers?

  • A senior drivers program to provide professional advice about your driving ability and maintaining your mobility
  • A safer driving program for licensed drivers to learn how to avoid risk, dangerous accidents and enhance safety
  • A driver assessment is ideal for corporate bodies or fleet managers, to ensure the licensed driver is able to drive, or identify areas for improvement.

  • How many lessons will I require?

Every new driver will develop their skills, confidence and awareness at different rates. After the first lesson, an instructor will be better placed to assess their needs and determine an individually tailored lesson plan for the future. Whoever the driver is, the more experience they can gain as a learner the better.

We look forward to your call
